Emily Martin grew up in central Vermont, in the small town of Roxbury. During the school year, you’re likely to see Emily on the court playing club basketball, spending time with friends, or visiting her family in the area. She enjoys the outdoors and is passionate about nutrition. One of her interests includes baking and cooking.
Emily is a junior studying elementary education at The University of Vermont with a concentration in nutrition and food sciences. She hopes to educate families about the importance of nutrition in the development of their children’s lives and would eventually love to give nutrition classes. Emily also hopes to teach an inclusive classroom of 3/4th graders.
Emily is thrilled to begin her first semester working with Think College Students!
Stay adventurous!
Hi All,
I have found it hard to stay up to date with the blog, my apologies! Even though this is my next to last semester, I have found so many new things to do on campus. I’m improving my pool skills, and just a few weeks ago visited the Living Well studio for a meditation session. Are there any new or adventurous activities you have found enjoyable around campus? Or places? I’d love to hear about them, as I’m always willing to try something new.
Cheers,
Emily
Today, Leah and I enjoyed the beautiful flowers and weather. We finished working on the internship book, then walked to her interview to Mann Hall. We enjoyed our lunch outside the Davis Center and it was a relaxing day for us. -Emily
I’m excited to be done school! I cant wait for summer. I also cant wait to hang out with the mentors next semester. I had a over all pretty good year. -Leah

End of the Year Reflections
This semester has been amazing to be a part of. Plants are now sprouting, flowers are blooming, and I think mother nature does a fine job of describing my first semester as a mentor. I can not explain the joy I’ve had to work with the students and get to know them. I have grown as a teacher, a friend, and as a listener. It is amazing to see the symbiotic relationship between what we give to the students, and the abundance they give to us! I am looking forward to the end of the year picnic, and another year with the program!
