High School Transition Services

Local high schools may contract with the University of Vermont Think College program for IEP transition services for students age 18-22.  Students can fulfill their high school IEP and transition goals on the campus of the University of Vermont.  The Think College program is located in the Center on Disability & Community Inclusion which is part of the College of Education & Social Services.

Think College at UVM offers innovative services for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities seeking college and career experience. Think College can addresses the transition domains including:

  • Vocational Training & Community Employment
  • Post-Secondary Education
  • Community Participation
  • Life Skills & Self-Advocacy

Think College at UVM incorporates student-centered planning, academic advising, and UVM students as peer mentors for an inclusive, supportive college and vocational experience. College plans can be tailored to meet the goals of the student’s IEP/Transition Plan.  Students can utilize the State of Vermont Agency of Education’s Flexible Pathways program for dual enrollment.
