I hate webcams

Diddled with the image settings and FTP settings, trying to improve both image quality and frame rate. Near impossible. These cameras are slower than the Axis cameras, and can’t handle capture and FTP fast enough to create semblance of motion. best results seem to be 640×480 at  1/7 fps or 1/12 fps at 1280 x 960.

Read the manual, too, and discovered that the iris on the camera was opene way too far. Told client, he was sending somebody up to adjust, afraid we had already damaged the CCD.

Worked more on the SMIL script, trying to optimize the settings. Still some problems with WIndows machines. Worked out an HREF, so one can click on the small image and see the full size movie.
