Following a successful Honors College Faculty Seminar in Global Health that brought together faculty from across the University and was organized by Anthropology Professor Jean Shea, the College, in collaboration with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, has created a new major and minor in Health and Society.  The HSOC major will enable students in CAS to pursue the interdisciplinary study of health within a liberal arts degree, encouraging exploration of social, cultural, and environmental determinants of health. The HSOC minor, meanwhile, will offer students across campus the opportunity to explore health from social science perspectives which will complement a range of existing majors offered in various colleges.
