GRAD – Creative Writing – MFA

Posted: September 29th, 2018 by wfalls

The English Department proposes a low-residency Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing with concentrations in fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, playwriting, and hybrid literary forms.

Through expert guidance with accomplished faculty, students will enter into a dynamic community of peers and receive one-on-one mentorship over the course of two years as they complete their graduate thesis.  Our aim is to nurture aspiring graduate students who seek careers as imaginative writers (and its related fields such as editing and publishing) and who wish to address the essential questions of our times. In an effort towards the life-long pursuit of mastering the craft of writing, we emphasize the study of literature but also art, culture, and criticism as meaningful acts that contribute to humanity’s understanding of itself. Even more, we are inspired by the formidable and impactful conversations writing engenders.
