   Happy solstice mate. That moon is a “blood moon” isn’t it–the kind of one that in the Middle Ages they thought was a sign of imminent apocalypse…amazing.    Lucky you. I saw it in my dreams only (I think).

   Intrigued about the date, I just looked up what happened in 1544: Mongols burned Peking, Turks invaded Hungary (again), rats arrived in North America, Portuguese arrived in Taiwan.

   1545: battles (English and French, English and Scots, Georgians and Turks), hunger in China.

   1546: battles, Spaniards conquering the Yucatan, births, deaths.

   The usual things, all fit for a blood moon.
