I’ve dealt with this kind of thing with MRG: somebody cut and pasted curly quotes from Word. Some readers deal with this, others (like iTunes) don’t, which can screw stuff up (podcasting).
Anyway, given this capability, it is remarkable easy to add it to other pages:
o add a file metatags.html to folder, as described here
o content of metatags looks something like this:
