Working Bridges ROM & Interfaith training posters

Help with heating and energy costs headlines the Working Bridges Resource of the Month (ROM) for January along with details about ongoing free legal clinics or “FAFSA Fridays” at VSAC in Winooski that are scheduled throughout January.

You will also see flyers below from Laura Engelken of the UVM Interfaith Center about upcoming events in UVM’s series of workshops aimed at improving our understanding of religion and spirituality on campus.  “Paganism 101” is scheduled on Tuesday, February 13th from 10am-Noon, and “Hinduism 101” is scheduled on March 5th from 1pm-3pm.  Both require advance registration through your UVM Peoplesoft account.

Kids bike giveaway, Mercy Winter/Summer events, & Working Bridges Resources of the Month

BO·NAN·ZA
 noun

1.) a situation or event that creates a sudden increase in wealth, good fortune, or profits, or

2.) a large amount of something desirable

Our friends at RISPnet and United Way Working Bridges have shared flyers (see below) about a bunch of community events that are happening this winter and spring.  The most exciting is a kids bike giveaway, Bike Bonanza, that is being organized by Old Spokes Home (OSP) for low income Vermonters.

You should act quickly to preregister (click here) before the deadline of December 12th because OSP can only afford to giveaway 140 bikes.

In addition, the First Congregational Church UCC of Burlington continues to offer free legal clinics, and Mercy Connections is offering a range of training and education events — including a free citizenship preparation class.
