There are multiple ways of exploring and finding things on Immanence. Two of the most obvious ways are to browse down the Home page and click on “Older posts” when you get to the bottom, or to search for specific things in the Search bar. The menu tabs provide three more fine-tuned ways; “categories” and “tags” provide more.
- About gives you a basic introduction and links to some key terms.
- Faves lists popular posts, some of my personal favorites, and the most frequently used tags; the latter in turn provide lists of articles “tagged” with those terms. These are updated only irregularly.
- Primer organizes pages according to some of the key themes (which cross-cut and overlap with “Categories”). These are also updated only irregularly.
- Categories, which are listed at the top of every page’s right-hand sidebar, provide a set of “big bins” into which posts are classified. Unlike the above pages, categories are updated automatically. They can be searched and subscribed to individually (go to “Subscribe2” in the right-hand sidebar to do that). Their titles are meant to be self-explanatory. Some of them are larger and more encompassing than others; for instance, “Philosophy” is larger than “Process-relational thought” and is likely to include much, though not all, of the latter.
- Tags are visible at the bottom of every post. These are a lateral way of tagging topics found in posts. Like categories, tags are updated automatically. There are many more tags than categories. Some of the most popular ones are listed on the “Faves” page.
