A core interest of mine both in terms of scholarship and policy/practice has been the resettlement of refugees — their integration, assimilation, alienation, and many other facets of their transitions to new lives. I have been involved in a number of different projects that have ranged from examining the reasons for their original flight from home (as seen in much of my work on displacement), the ways in which their new homes have been selected (as seen in my work on resettlement politics), and the challenges and opportunities presented by these new locations.
