I have a longstanding interest in the politics and practices of international development, including theories of economic and social development, the rise of local and transnational social movements that have challenged orthodoxies such as modernization, the green revolution, and neoliberalism, and the impact of initiatives such as structural adjustment programs on local communities, regions and nations. From 2002-2006 I served as the Research Coordinator of the Ethics of Development-Induced Displacement (EDID) Project located at York University.
