April ROM, Bikeshare, and Citizenship Classes

Spring is here. Sort of — brrrrrr! But at least you can tell it’s spring because everybody is itching to get outdoors!

Maybe you could go for a bikeride by signing-up for the new Greenride Bikeshare that has set up unmistakable, bright green bike racks on campus and around Burlington. Or maybe you should first drop-in to the annual New American Safety Festival on Saturday, May 12th to get your kid a free bike helmet. Or maybe you just want to sit back to enjoy a discounted performance at the Flynn Theater.

There’s lots of goings-on in Burlington this spring — even if warmth isn’t one of them!

Immigration & Housing Rights Info Sessions (and free dinner)

Join the BHS International Club & the BSD EL Department for a free dinner and Immigration Rights Information Session this upcoming Wednesday, March 28th at the Burlington High School Cafeteria from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

Then come to the Family Room at the O.N.E. Community Center on Thursday, April 5th at 11:30am for a Housing Rights Information Session.

Lots of different interpreters will be at each event. Check out the event flyers below for additional details.

Welcome to VT Film & Farm Fresh Food

Come see the film Welcome to Vermont: Four Stories of Resettled Identity at Main Street Landing Film House on April 19th from 6pm-8pm. This is a documentary by Mira Niagolova that won the VT International Film Festival Ben & Jerry’s Award.

It’s also time to apply for the Farm Fresh Share Program that brings CSA farmshare to low income Vermonters.

UVM Flu Shot Clinic: Feb 7th

The last UVM Flu Shot Clinic is next week on Wednesday, February 7th from 7:30am-1:00pm at Davis Center Room 413. The flu shot is free for UVM staff who bring their UVM Blue Shield Blue Cross insurance card.
