Posted: November 17th, 2016 by phenne

In Spring 2016 I will be teaching one large section of Introduction to International Relations (POLS 051B). The course will provide an overview of key theories, debates and topics in the study of international relations.

The course units are:

  • a discussion of what is international relations (including a discussion of grand theories like realism, liberalism, constructivism)
  • international security, covering topics ranging from the cause of war to nuclear weapons to terrorism
  • international organization, including international law, human rights and globalization
  • key events such as the Arab Spring, the status of American power, and religion in international relation

There are some complications in registering for the course right now as it is also part of the Global and Regional Studies major, but any students running into problems can contact me.
