Saturday, June 18, 2016 – Riding the Causeway

I think if you visit Vermont this is a must! It was exhausting, but so worth the view. Personally, I don’t bike much, but it seems like a lot when you say 25 miles, but its all flat so 100% worth it! Even if Josue and Marquis don’t think so.

This is the trail that we took! 13.7 miles there and back – all for burgers and the view.

Sunday, June 19, 2016 – Kayaking

Today we went Kayaking with Annie. I had a lot of fun and it was a nice and calm ride. We got to see lots of nature and no one flipped over.

We got cremes to end the day because it was hot!

Sunday, July 3rd – Monday, July 4th, 2016 – Fireworks and More!

This weekend we went and hung out with Dennis DePaul. Dennis took us to see the fireworks downtown on Sunday. On Monday, we met up with Dennis again and got to hang out with his family at their lake house. Dennis took us out on his boat and we went water tubing and wake boarding. This was such a great experience because there was no way I would have ever done this!

Saturday, July 9th, 2016

Today we hung out with ResLife Staff. We met up at Raf’s house went to Get Air, a trampoline arena, had some great dinner and then headed to Escape Room 60. The Escape Room was my favorite, we got locked in this room and had to figure out different clues to get out of the room. It was all about team work and thinking outside the box. We even made it on the best time board, currently holding down 4th place!

Tuesday, July 12th

We went to get some ice cream with the ALANA Student Center. They were so great! Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures, but we did get to talk to them and connect with them. They were such incredible people and really genuinely care about their students.

Thursday, July 14th

Today was Laser Tag and Bowling with the HESA students. We got to meet and talk to the incoming HESA grads. This was not only a great time to connect with the graduates, but really get to ask them why they chose UVM. Plus, laser tag was fun and I beat Josue and Marquis at Bowling.

Friday, July 15th

So mini-golf I learned is not my strength. I started mini-golf-cala-novastrong, but then lost. I think Marquis was not keeping the score correctly which is why I lost. We went mini-golfing with Vijay and then got a chance to sit with him and ask him questions. We asked all about UVM and learned so much about graduate school.

Sunday, July 17th

Today was all about exploring Vermont. We went to some water holes with Joe and then HESA graduates. Then we went to explore the Ben & Jerry’s factory and ended up getting some food at Prohibition Pig. During this experience it was so much fun, but we also got to connect with Joe and hear his experience.

Sailing with Kathy and Keith! This was a great experience and Marquis even got to drive. Plus, it was such an honor to meet Kathy and she had so much great insight into graduate school and the transition.

Thursday, July 21st

Dinner at Kim Martin’s home. The food was delicious and it was great to interact with the Center for Student and Ethics and Conduct staff. We learned a little bit about each of their paths and how they got into student affairs. Plus Kim is an amazing cook and makes amazing Guacamole!

Friday, July 22nd

Today we were amazing by Lacretia’s beautiful community. She took us to her housing co-op. It was incredible to be able to go from the city to her community and then we cropped-prcourtyard3-6-17-09-e1359913407836could go straight into the forest. Plus, Lacretia grows delicious raspberries. We attended one of her community dinners where everyone shared a great time and we had amazing chicken curry. Thank you Lacretia for opening the doors of your community to us!

Sunday July 24thIMG_7493

Morning 5:30 am sunset watching with Jilliene (We didn’t actually see the sunrise). We did get to learn pilates, eat some breakfast and go raspberry picking!

In the afternoon we went to the driving range with Patience. Again, golf is not my sport but we did get to take a cool video where we all actually hit the ball. After we had a BBQ at her place, learned alIMG_7494l about The Ohio State. Okay, maybe not,but we did learn a lot about assistantships and the etiquette on responding to schools once they offer you an assistantship.
