Wetland

I think my phenology place classifies as a wetland, mostly because of its proximity to Lake Champlain. The Burlington Waterfront Park was created with the intention of bringing the water and the land together. This area is home to many water activities such as swimming, fishing, and boating. The Waterfront has changed quite a bit since the last time I visited. The ice on the lake has melted a lot, which is an indication that the temperature of the lake is starting to rise, and they seasons are starting to change. There were more people out and about, which also indicates that the temperature is rising. Some of the small shrubs and plants were able to be seen more because of the receding snow. The trees seemed to look about the same, except that there was less snow on the branches, making them look a little more bare. Assessing this area using Biofinder showed that this area is home to a rare plant species. The waterfront is also a high priority wetland and riparian area.
