UKR-TAZ compiles materials helpful for understanding Ukraine, with an emphasis on radical democratic perspectives. (See here for more.) That makes it an unusual if not rare space on the English-language internet.
To do this well requires help. We are not calling for donations — if you can provide any, please donate to the organizations listed here. Rather, we seek collaborators, who would be willing to collect articles and/or media to be shared here, and potentially contribute original work of an appropriately analytical (or inspirational) nature.
UKR-TAZ is able to pay for selected articles of original analytical writing on topics related to Ukraine in a global political and/or ecological context. The rate is $200 CAD for 750+ words, $400 CAD for analytically substantive articles over 1500 words. The writing should be original, unpublished (as yet) elsewhere, and not AI-generated; relevant to the concerns of UKR-TAZ (“analytical perspectives on Ukraine… infused by the ideals of radical democratic possibility”); and written in an accessible, not overly academic style. Articles connecting the current war with global ecological politics are especially welcome. Hyperlinks are recommended for key sources or relevant background information. A short bibliography is allowed but not required. One or two images (ideally copyright-free) will be appreciated. For examples of the kind of writing that works best with UKR-TAZ’s readership, see “Chomsky on Ukraine” for a shorter article (922 words), “Economics vs. culture: Ishchenko & his critics” for a longer one (3,737 words). UKR-TAZ uses a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. Your work will normally be published under this license unless you specify otherwise. In either case, you retain rights over your own writing.
