Aden Haji, ’19, is an Anthropology major who is speaking up about his experiences at UVM. He came to Burlington at the young age of 8 from Somalia with his family and since then has founded “Speak Up Roosevelt Forum” (S.U.R.F.), which is a community-based initiative that unites community members, organizations and law enforcement to discuss how Burlington can become a more open and inclusive city to multicultural voices.
