Welcome to the Women & Religion in Africa research portal. This resource was created by students inĀ REL 163/WGST 116 at the University of Vermont.

The essays posted here provide background information on and give an overview of a diverse array of topics, debates, concerns, and issues relevant to the study of women and religion in Africa. In preparing these essays, students identified key bibliographic sources and the dominant analytical trends in interdisciplinary scholarship in history, anthropology, religion, gender studies, African studies, and related disciplines.
