I teach at the University of Vermont, and study media, technology, law, and culture. I’m also a bit of a political junkie, and a long-time observer of the habits — good and bad — of U.S. journalism. Living in Vermont offers me an unusual view of the national political scene: things happen politically in this state that, according to the received wisdom in most of the rest of the country, shouldn’t be possible . (And I know the political innovation in Vermont is not just because we’re a bunch of Birkenstock-wearing hippies.) So I’ve started this blog as an exercise in writing down some of my observations.
