Centennial Woods

There are many trail entrances around Centennial Woods as it is mostly borders residents aside from I-89. An entrance I often use to get there is located on the left near the UVM Police Department off of Catamount Drive on your way to the commuter parking lot. My phenology location mostly consists of mature eastern hemlocks. To get there, you can use the trail map below. At each trail-head on the parameter of the woods, there are maps as-well.

Upon visiting January 24, there was roughly 5 to 6 inches of snow on the ground from storms over the past week. Most of the snow on the trail was tightly packed down from people walking. At the hemlock grove, my friend and I spotted some animal tracks. Despite seeing the tracks, there wasn’t much visible wildlife aside from a bird chirping in the trees and other people. Below are some photos of the location and animal tracks.
