She recently began a M.S. program at UVM in Forestry and studying dendrochronology has helped prepare her for exciting research seeking to better understand how southern pine beetle is impacting the regionally-rare pine barrens on Long Island.

I am one of those stereotypical Vermonters. I would rather spend all my time out in the woods than anything else. As a student my time is split between classes, racing for the Nordic Ski club, and running the UVM Woodsmen Team.

I am a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences seeking degrees in Geography, Psychological Science, and a minor in Geospatial Technology. I enjoy fishing, hiking, hunting, camping— anything outdoors! Dendrochronology has been a great opportunity to strengthen my practical and applied skills, in the field, and in the lab, and in the classroom.

My interests are in dendrochronology, spatial analysis and forest productivity. I hope to be able to perform dendroclimatology research in the future using either new techniques such as blue-light analysis or stable isotope analysis.

Ingrid Evans

I am a senior finishing my degree in environmental science. This class opened up a world of knowledge on interesting topics such as forest health and ecology and most importantly the basics in dendrochronology dating and analysis.

I am a junior forestry major with a plant biology minor and I have always loved trees! Dendrochronology has been a great experience for me because I have learned just how useful trees can be to many disciplines of scientific research.

Hi! I am a Conservation Biology major, a Geography and Chemistry minor, and an aspiring adventurer and conservationist. Exploration and the arts are central to my pursuits, and I hope to bring a sense of whimsy and poeticism to the realm of field work while fighting for the protection and continued sustainability of our home and its inhabitants.
