Hispanic Heritage Month in 2024 at Burlington Public Library.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a period dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the histories, cultures, and immense contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The timing is significant as it coincides with the Independence Day celebrations of several Latin American countries.

Hispanic Tales Featured in 2025 CELO Showcase

On May 1, 2025, three Elementary Spanish II students–Grant Matthews, Alexandra Gresham, and Olivia Gowell–presented the Hispanic Tales project at the second annual student Showcase of Community-Engaged Learning. The service-learning project was one of twenty-five showcased during this gathering recognizing the exceptional Civic Learning and Service Learning work completed by students during the semester.

Hispanic Tales Featured in 2024 CELO Showcase

At the first ever Showcase of Community-Engaged Learning in 2024, the Hispanic Tales project was featured. Over 60 students participated in showcasing the twenty-five featured service-learning projects. Elizabeth Roadcamp, class of ’24 and contributor to the project, represented Hispanic Tales in the showcase. Read the article here for more details on the event!
