Looking for an upper- class student looking for summer work experience in the Rutland, VT area. Work will entail forest management services on small private lands, mostly UVA-related. Tasks will be forest inventory, boundary line maintenance, maybe some timber marking.

Candidates must be GPS-comfortable and able to work alone. Personality traits must be old-school compatible—do what you agreed to do, return phone calls or email messages, if you don’t know the answer, don’t fake it, if you didn’t get it right, expect appropriate criticism and correction. An eagerness to learn is far more important than current skills. EOE

I can’t offer full-time work, so maybe another area forester could also use help. Should live in the area. Compensation currently unknown, but will offer suitable amount.

Interested students should contact me by phone or email
