The Eco-reps program at UVM potentially has a couple openings for the position of student-manager, a 7 hour per week commitment on average. The job would begin next fall semester. Student Eco-Rep Manager

No of Openings: T.B.D.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday primarily with occasional weekend hours; various times during the day and evening
Hours per Week: 7
Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $10.60
Job Start Date: 8/26/2016
Job End Date: 5/4/2017

For approximately half of their time, student managers oversee three student Eco-Rep change agents in one of five geographic locations on campus to carry-out outreach campaigns related to sustainability topics, such as zero-waste, net-zero energy, real food, and others. Additionally, each student manager will serve as the Eco-Rep program’s expert in one of five skill sets, as described below:

·        Writing Manager: write content for articles, social media, bulletin boards, and posters for the benefit of outreach/education efforts across campus and for the University’s STARS effort.

·        Video & Photography Manager: photograph events and images for campaigns, and film and edit videos for the benefit of outreach/education efforts across campus and for the University’s STARS effort.

·        Graphic Design Manager: design digital and non-digital displays for posters, bulletin boards, and webpages for the benefit of outreach/education efforts across campus and for the University’s STARS effort.

·        Research Manager: research effective methods for outreach/education; research topics such as zero-waste, zero-energy, or sustainable food; and assist the data manager with measuring the effect of campaigns. These activities will benefit the education/outreach effort on campus as well as the University’s STARS report.

·        Data Manager: design data collection processes, collect data, and analyze data for the benefit of education/outreach efforts across campus and for the University’s STARS report.

Working for the Eco-Reps program is a serious job with high expectations. These expectations include the following: always being punctual, showing up for scheduled hours, attending mandatory weekly meetings, clearly communicating performance issues to Eco-Reps coordinator with honesty and integrity, and being held accountable for infractions through a series of three warnings. Qualifications

·        Prior work experience

·        Skills or strong interest in at least one of the following areas: writing, video & photography, graphic design, research, or data collection & analysis.

·        Willingness to talk to strangers

·        Interest in learning more about sustainability

·        Interest in learning management skills
