*Celebrating Vermont Inventors with an Outdoor Winter Theme*

*Thursday, December 13, 2012*

BURLINGTON, VT. — *THAT’S BRILLIANT!* is an evening dedicated to ingenuity
and creativity by Vermont inventors with a focus on the Vermont Winter
Outdoors and new this year, presentations by the VT Agency of
Transportation and Vermont Ski Safety.

ECHO’s new Revision Lakeside Pavilion space will be transformed into an
inventor’s dream space with nine Vermont inventors showing off their
creativity with products created for winter use.

*Two speakers will be presenting:* Carl Ettlinger, an engineer and founder
of Vermont Ski Safety, will share insights gained about ski safety and the
partnerships and collaborations created to make the sport of skiing even
safer. Jim Cota and Dave Blackmore from the Vermont Agency of
Transportation (VTrans) will offer a hands-on demonstration of the creative
and environmentally kind use of brine to treat ice on Vermont roadways.

*Climb aboard!* VTrans will have their Super Tanker Salt Brine Truck on
display with additional VTrans folks on hand to answer questions.

Observe, touch, try and learn about these useful, quirky, clever and
amazing inventions! Meet the inventors to learn about their special
creations and what motivated them to invent in the first place. Learn how
to get your invention to market from professionals who will be on hand.

*There will be door prizes!* Door prizes include, but are not limited to:
dog sled ride, learn to paddle board lesson for two, an intro ice climbing
lesson for one, and a scenic cruise on Lake Champlain.
