Interesting discussion in class about content vs. composition! This week, let’s get back to considering composition by using light as the motivation for our images. Create a series of 3 or more images in which light falling on your subject is the main point of interest. Look at light. What color is is? What shadows or shaping is it causing? This will be interesting for those of you working with cell phones where you do not have control over the exposure… your exposure will be determined by where you point your camera. Play around a little to see what happens as you move your camera slightly over your composition. If you are working with a camera that has manual iris control, this is an opportunity to really play with how exposure affects what you get. Have fun! I look forward to seeing your images next week!
