This Spring students in FTS142 Advanced Production will be taking a series of still photos using easily available imaging devices such as cell phones, iPods, etc. Each week there will be a prompt. Students may shoot as many images as they want, but will edit their weekly presentation to 3 images.
The goal is to engage in thinking about creating images on a daily basis throughout the semester. I am wondering if this kind of “simple” engagement affects how students relate to visual aspects of video projects this semester.
I will participate in the experiment by uploading my own cell phone images every week. There will be links to student blogs on the right of this page.
We’ll see what happens!
