11/2 Trip to Phenology Project Location

Map Legend:

  • Vertical lines = non woody plants (mostly reed like plants in the mini valley)
  • Open circle = tree
  • Shaded circle = rock

  • Open long oval = fallen tree

Noticeable changes from last visit:

  • Very few plants had leaves (both trees and non woody plants)
  • All of the non woody plants in the mini valley had dried out flowers
  • Most berries were gone but some remained
  • Much less wildlife moving around
  • Drier ground and air

15 Minute Meditation:

Hearing 

  • birds (multiple species calling)
  • Water moving (small brooke to near the location)
  • Twigs breaking (hikers and wildlife)

Smell

  • crisp air
  • Rotting wood (fallen trees and tiny wooden bridges)
  • Damp wetland (moss)

See

  • fallen leaves
  • Puddles
