Foliage Changes:
- No more deciduous trees with leaves
- Small non woody plants in valley also lost remaining leaves + flowers
- Most remaining foliage in the form of Moss, Ferns, Conifers and some ground cover plants
- Some red berries still around (see images)
- Less leaf litter than before (however my spot is on a trail so it could be attributed to trail maintenance)
Animal Activity:
- No obvious signs of animal activity
- Most likely decreased animal activity due to amphibian hibernation & avian migration
Reflection on Spot:
- I loved how open this spot was, it helepd me get a clear view of how different the area was as the seasons progressed
- I also loved that my area was a small wetlands in an otherwise non wetlands area. It makes it interesting to talk about, especially comparing it to my friends’ spots nearby
