These products\u00a0grab the RTSP stream from the camera\u00a0and\u00a0reformats it to RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) and\/or HTTP streaming . Both RTMP and HTTP streaming are well understood by jwplayer, providing video on on the whole gamut of desktop and handheld devices.<\/p>\n<p>Streaming Server Choices:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/adobe-media-server-family.html\">Adobe Media Server<\/a> 5, $800-$3600 depending on edition<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wowza.com\">Wowza Streaming engine<\/a>, $1500<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Red5\">Red5<\/a>, open source<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After bashing my head against the wall for a day or two crying to make Red5 go, I went for the equivalent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wowza.com\">Wowza Streaming Engine<\/a>.
