I wanted to include this image at a vernal pool in Redstone Quarry. I noticed the water seemed to be clearer but also have more algae growing in it which makes sense from the warmer weather that has been recently here. Some local bird species I saw here today were the Cardinal, Tufted Titmouse, Black Capped Chickadee, and Seagulls. I also saw evidence of foxes, squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks in the area.
These are some forsythias that had already begun to bud, most likely because of the warm weather we’ve had recently as it seemed a lot of things were beginning to bud and bloom earlier then I had anticipated
These are just some random things I found growing on trees that I couldn’t identify and wanted to include on the post
These where two more things I found budding from trees, if pinecones do technically bud I’m unsure if its considered something else
This is my species interaction chart for Redstone quarry, showing how squirrels and chipmunks compete with each other for resources but also are prey for the fox population
