Sensory Experience

I sat in silence for 15 minutes on a moss covered log at my spot. The ground was covered in crisp leaves. The sugar maples were the only deciduous trees that still had leaves holding on by now. The occasional Northern Hemlock and Eastern White Pine stood tall above. Their conifer litter danced on the surface of the water, creating odd shadows. The caw of crows rang out above, carried over the stream by the hum of the wind in the trees. The babbling stream made it’s own music.
