Craig J. Bryan, PsyD, ABPP
Lab Director
Craig Bryan is a board-certified clinical psychologist, U.S. Air Force veteran, and internationally recognized expert on suicide prevention, trauma, and resilience. He is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and Director of the Suicide Care Clinic at University of Vermont Health. Craig’s research has been funded by the Department of Defense, the National Institutes of Health, and multiple foundations. He has published over 350 scientific articles and multiple books including Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention and Rethinking Suicide, and has received numerous awards and recognitions for his research.

AnnaBelle Bryan, MS
Director, Military & Veteran Engagement
AnnaBelle Bryan is a sports psychologist, U.S. Air Force veteran, and Faculty Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. Since her retirement from active-duty military service, AnnaBelle has conducted research focused on military and veteran suicide prevention, PTSD (combat & MST), moral injury, and performance in these populations. A certified peer specialist trainer, AnnaBelle provides training and supervision to peer specialists and helps service members and veterans struggling with mental health conditions to find and obtain effective treatment.

Ennio Ammendola, PhD, LMHC
Lead Psychotherapist
Ennio Ammendola is an Assistant Professor and licensed mental health counselor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. His clinical interests focus on the study of suicide (understanding, assessment, and treatment), risk management, and the phenomenology of trauma. Ennio has received extensive training and certifications in numerous therapeutic approaches and has offered workshops, lectures, and supervision nationally and internationally on these topics.

Jeffrey Tabares, PhD
Data Scientist
Jeff Tabares is an Assistant Professor and experimental psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. His interests in suicide prevention include non-linear modeling, temporality, transitions between symptom states, military health, and behavioral outcomes. Jeff has received advanced training in complex dynamical systems and applies these computational and theoretical concepts to understand how people move in and out of suicidal states and recover after experiencing suicidal crises, trauma, and other forms of adversity.
