How to Get There

Birds Eye View Map 11/1/21

The Redstone Quarry is just about two miles away from UVM’s Davis Center, and only a mile from Redstone Campus. The location can be brought up in Google/Apple Maps by putting in “Redstone Terrace.” The best way to access the entrance is going to the end of Hoover Street after turning in from S Willard Street(Route 7). Although it may look like it on the map, the quarry can not be accessed by Crescent Rd.

Suggestions:

Walkers/Bikers: If coming from the university, it is mostly all downhill there, and uphill on the way back, just a heads up!

Drivers: This quarry is tucked back within a neighborhood, so it is important to park in the gravel area on the quarry’s side, not in front of any houses.

Navigating the Quarry

There are two sides to the quarry.

If you are going to the left first, you will pass more of the wildflowers and marsh area until you reach the quarry wall. This path loops around to the left back to the entrance, and there are no ways to get up to the top on this side.

If you start headed on the path to the right, you will come across a nice bench. If you would like to get up to the top ledge, pass the bench and follow the path over the low wooden bridge until you reach this railing:

Then, go up the steps and curve left. The path is very overgrown but totally worth going up to check out!
