Artist Statement
Heavily inspired by work of Louise Despont, this piece reflects upon the changing landscape due to climate change. “Glacial Retreat” depicts anxiety regarding global warming; from that anxiety comes innovation and change to improve the planet and the lives of everyone—no matter race, gender, class, or sexuality. This piece encourages deep reflection of the surrounding environment and what humans can do in order to halt or reverse anthropogenic detriments.
