Artist Statement
This piece recognizes the small, important processes in the natural world that must be recognized and protected just as fiercely as the more major disruptions we are seeing with climate change, such as sea level rise or rising temperatures. Maintaining the flow of energy and balance is critical in all ecosystems. It is easy to forget how important balance is, or to overlook the things we need to survive, such as food and safety.
