Where?
Adjacent to campus, Centennial Woods is one of the University of Vermont’s ten natural areas that is managed by the UVM Environmental Program as well as the Vermont Land Trust. On the edge of the Burlington city lines, it is about a 10-minute walk from UVM’s central and athletic campuses. The area contains about 70 acres of mixed hardwoods, mature conifers, streams, and wetlands.

Why?
As one of the first natural places I explored after coming onto campus, I chose my spot in Centennial Woods due to the proximity as well as the beauty of the area. The presence of not only a forest but streams and wetlands makes for endless opportunities for exploration.
