A Brief Introduction

Hello! My name is Noah Levin, and i’m a sophomore UVM student in the Rubenstein School of Natural Resources, studying Environmental Studies.

Welcome to an in-depth longitudinal analysis and study of Red Rocks Park, a small natural area on the coast of Lake Champlain funded and protected by the city of South Burlington.

Over the course of two months we will be focusing on the unique vegetation in this area, specifically the large population of Northern White Cedars(Thuja Occidentalis) and other deciduous/conifer tree species in the park. The City of South Burlington protects and manages this unique natural area as well as water quality off shore to control algae blooms.

If you wish to go and see this natural area for yourself, and you’re a student at UVM, well you’re in luck. Red Rocks Park is only three miles away from campus, and if you are looking to get there, here’s three different routes you could potentially take.
