First off let me tell you that configuring syncML on android devices is a \u201cPAIN\u201d and that I strongly recommend using the UVM calendar web page at \u201ccalendar.uvm.edu\u201d with your browser instead.<\/p>\n

Having said this if you want to use syncML from synthesis you can and here is a rough road map.<\/p>\n

You can purchase the software at the link below, the \u201cpro\u201d version will sync automatically and the \u201cstandard\u201d version requires that you hit the \u201csync\u201d button in the application to make the synchronization happen.<\/p>\n

in the section on the left of the page you will find a \u201cdownload\u201d link, go to client downloads and locate the one for Android, click in there. I suggest the \u201cpro\u201d client.<\/p>\n

Skip the section that asks for your name address etc, and go to the bottom of the page, check, the \u201cI have read\u2026\u201d and hit the \u201cdownload now\u201d link. Once the application has downloaded, you will see an indication in the lower right of your screen.<\/p>\n

Tap on this and as to open it and the tablet will complain that the application comes from an unknown source. You will need to follow the link to authorize \u201cUnknown Sources\u201d. (When this entire process is complete I recommend turning this important security feature back on.)<\/p>\n

When you start the syncML application, you can use the icon below in the \u201capps\u201d menu.<\/p>\n

You will be asked to register your product, when you purchased it, you will have been sent an email with your license code.<\/p>\n

IMPORTANT:<\/span><\/strong> Be sure to put your name and email where it says \u201cname and email\u201d in the registration window and type it exactly as show in the email you received. I have obscured my registration code below.<\/p>\n

The \u201csettings\u201d menu may be reached by taping the menu on the lower center that looks like a grid and selecting the icon called \u201csettings\u201d shown below:<\/p>\n

By tapping the URL field, you may enter the path to UVM’s Oracle Calendar server:<\/p>\n

Next, scroll down just a bit (by swiping upwards) and tap the User<\/em> field under the Server Login<\/em> heading.\u00a0 Enter your UVM NetID here. Now tap the Password<\/em> field and enter your NetID password and save these settings.<\/p>\n

In the menu below, click on the green arrow to the right of the \u201cevents\u201d heading:<\/p>\n

In the \u201cServer Path\u201d window type \u201c.\/Calendar\/Events\u201d (include the period at the left and include upper case letters), Here you can also designate the date range of your syncronization.\u00a0 We offically recommend not exceeding 30 days in the past and 120 days in the future.\u00a0 Going outside this tends to cause failure.<\/p>\n

tap \u201cSave\u201d<\/p>\n

Once complete tap the \u201cDone\u201d button at the top of the settings window and tap the \u201cStart Synchronization\u201d button at the top of the main page menu. You should see numbers appear and an indication that the \u201cSync successful completed\u201d.<\/p>\n

To set your sync interval go to the \u201csetting\u201d menu off the main menu (grid icon lower left part of the screen) and click on the \u201cTimed Sync\u201d icon. In there you can set how often you want the synchronization to occur.<\/p>\n

When you return to the tablets \u201capp\u201d screen locate your Calendar application, the icon will resemble this.<\/p>\n
