More links worth investigating

I was talking in class the other day about the case of Helen Betty Osborne who was murdered in 1971 by four white men, a crime very similar to one that we learn about in Kiss of the Fur Queen.

Shelley found this important site for us to look at called Stolen Sisters.  It’s a campaign by Amnesty International to draw attention to the discrimination and violence experienced by Native women in Canada. Please take some time to explore this site to learn more about this important issue.

Returning to the issue of residential schools, I also started looking on YouTube for information and discovered lots to watch there about the history of these schools in Canada and the United States.  If you start looking, you’ll find lost of testimony such as this account from a Lakota woman talking about the abuse she experienced at a school.
