I am a migration scholar and an urban geographer who uses primarily qualitative, interdisciplinary and community-based approaches to conduct my research.\u00a0 My key interests lie in exploring the complex relationships between people and place and especially in the ways that flows of capital, labour, bodies, and ideas may transform various landscapes. \u00a0I am currently a Professor in the Department of Geography and Geosciences<\/a> and Director of the Global and Regional Studies Program<\/a> at the University of Vermont. \u00a0I also serve as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education for the College of Arts and Sciences. I am a Fellow of the Gund Institute for the Environment<\/a> and affiliated with the graduate programs in Food Systems<\/a> and Sustainable Development, Policy, Economics and Governance<\/a> at UVM and have previously served as a Science Advisor for the USDA, a National Councillor for the American Association of Geographers<\/a> and have served as a commissioner for the Burlington Housing Authority, Green Mountain Transit, and the City of Burlington’s Public Works Committee.<\/p>\n
