{"id":3370,"date":"2019-09-10T14:46:04","date_gmt":"2019-09-10T18:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/outcropn\/?p=3370"},"modified":"2019-09-10T14:46:11","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T18:46:11","slug":"funding-available-for-innovative-equipment-to-improve-water-quality-on-vermont-farms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/outcropn\/2019\/09\/10\/funding-available-for-innovative-equipment-to-improve-water-quality-on-vermont-farms\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Available for Innovative Equipment to Improve Water Quality on Vermont Farms"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For Immediate Release:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food &amp; Markets<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding\nAvailable for Innovative Equipment to Improve Water Quality on Vermont Farms<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>$1 million will\nSupport Farms and Vermont Clean Water Goals<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 10, 2019 | Montpelier VT<\/strong> &#8211; The Vermont\nAgency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) is pleased to announce that $1\nmillion dollars in funding is available for farmers, custom applicators,\nnon-profit organizations and phosphorus separation equipment providers through\nthe Capital Equipment Assistance Program (CEAP). Financial assistance is\navailable for new or used innovative equipment that will aid in the reduction\nof surface runoff of agricultural wastes to State waters, improve water quality\nof State waters, reduce odors from manure application, separate phosphorus from\nmanure, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce costs to farmers. The\nfollowing equipment categories are eligible for funding:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Manure and Silage Management Equipment<\/li><li>Cover Crop and Field Improvement Equipment<\/li><li>Precision Agriculture Equipment<\/li><li>Conservation Tillage Equipment<\/li><li>Phosphorus Reduction, Separation, Treatment Equipment\n     or Technology<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>CEAP grant applications are due by November 1, 2019 and\nnotification of grant award will occur by February of 2020.
