My name is Soraya and I am currently a first-year environmental science student in the Rubenstein School of the Environment and Natural Resources here at University of Vermont. As a part of my first year lecture in RSENR, Natural History and Human Ecology, we were required to go out and study phenology in Burlington real time.
Phenology: the study of how seasonal and climate variations impact the periodic events in the life cycles of plants and animals
This blog documents my visits to the trails at Rock Point Natural Area on the outsides of the city of Burlington, as well as a visit to Tinker Nature Park, a small system of trails in western NY, while I was home for Thanksgiving. My posts for those locations were for my fall semester, NR1010.
For NR1020, I have visited Casavant Natural Area, my phenology site, as well as other sites in the greater Burlington area!
