The forest floor at North Beach is covered by Red Oak leaves. Most of the deciduous trees have lost their leaves besides some Oak. The pines on the evergreens and the vibrant green and yellow Norway Maples stand out among bare branches. I heard a lot of squirrels that were chasing after each other in the leaves.
Many people were biking and taking advantage of the warm weather. Out of the three phenology visits so far, this was definitely the warmest day.
