4:36pm Mostly cloudy What defines my place and makes it unique is the large clearing right next to it. The clearing is there because power lines run through it. It also has a different atmosphere compared to other spots in the forest because it has that clearing right there. I love this spot so much because it shows that humans can live with nature, not against it. It is also just a beautiful spot because it is on a hill and you are just looking out of this clearing. Just a sea of tall grass in green and browns, that is speckled with purple flowers. It is also a very unique site  because the ground is not completely covered in pine needles and leaves. It is also very far into centennial woods you have to follow the path for about 15 minutes depending on how fast you walk. You follow the main trail till you get a small clearing where we finished the self guided lab, it has a lot of big eastern white pine. The main trail the goes up a hill but to get to my site you go on the small trail straight ahead from where you entered. Then you follow that trail until you get to the clearing and you know your there when the trail splits and the path going straight goes into the  tall grass of the clearing. My spot is the fork in the trail. I really like being there because it is a very peaceful spot for me. It a place that really clears my head from whatever was bothering me. You just look out into the grass and see them dancing in the wind. You listen to the sound of the stream babbling off in the distance, and you hear animals running in the forest. You smell air that does not smell like weed, in fact it smells clean with a hint of pine. At my spot there a couple of very large Eastern White Pines but there are also a good number of baby Eastern White Pines. This difference in age really makes it feel very in tune with nature.
