hello 2024!! πŸ₯‚

Trinity Woods was definitely more difficult to get to than it was in the past, with all the snow and the slick ice. From the second I entered the trail, I immediately saw animal tracks all around us. There were several obvious dog tracks, but also some I wasn’t so sure about. I’m thinking for the majority of those, probably squirrel, or maybe rabbit?

Trinity Woods was almost entirely frozen over, which was different from what it looked like when I visited in December before break. I thought the stream was completely frozen over, so much so that I could walk across parts of it. However, I quickly realized this wasn’t the case when I stepped through a thinner section of ice into VERY cold water. It was cool to see how the water still ran, even under inches of ice.

The snow covered the vast majority of the vegetation and the understory, so few observations could be made. Most of the trees have long since shed their leaves, besides the few Pines. While there were plenty tracks of a variety of animals, I didn’t come across any physically, which I found interesting.
