This weekend was Thanksgiving Break so I decided to explore a spot a little closer to home, which for me was Radnor Lake. It is outside of Nashville, TN off of Otter Creek Road. The walking trail overlooks this lake, which in the summer, is populated with River Otters! The overstory is mainly deciduous trees, and I was able to identify some American Beeches and White Oaks! Closer to the shoreline, I could see conifers like a type of Cedar Tree. The deciduous and conifer trees were almost distinctly separated by an old road that once continued Otter Creek Road- but it has since become strictly a walking trail.

One similarity between this phenology spot and my place in Trinity Woods is the population of deciduous trees around the area. While Trinity Woods has a much higher concentration of Paper Birches than anything else, some American Beeches are present as well! I find my place at home special because it is a place that I have only visited a handful of times, and only with my best friend. It served as such a good place for us to catch up and connect this morning, as it has many times before.
