Over this past weekend during the City Nature Celebration, I mostly stuck close to campus to make my observations. On Friday, I went to Centennial Woods, where I found a majority of the species I observed. On Saturday, I walked around Athletic Campus, down the Burlington Rec Path, and through the neighborhood across Spear St.

Overall, I made 83 observations of 48 species. I have used iNaturalist occasionally before this weekend, but this was my first time engaging heavily with it. I found it pretty easy to use, although I did use other apps like Merlin from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and PictureThis to identify birds by call and verify species identifications.

It has been really interesting looking through the statistics of the other cities participating in the City Nature Celebration. There is a big difference between the number of observations, species, and individual observers between cities.
