\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DRAWING and PAINTING at GHOST RANCH<\/strong><\/p>\n

A workshop for people who wish to explore their creativity and their connection with nature and spirit in the magnificent surroundings of GHOST RANCH\u2014an extraordinary 21,000 acre landscape<\/p>\n

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY\u2014OPEN to all levels.- LIMITED CLASS SIZE<\/p>\n

Art making can be a contemplative practice in observation and execution, a way of fine-tuning the\u00a0 eye, hand, and spirit . When the making of art dances between the natural world, the artist and a sense of spiritual listening, the collaboration often reveals inspired beauty, often sense of \u00a0delicious inquiry or profound power and sometimes insight.<\/p>\n

What \u00a0more \u00a0powerful and appropriate place for this exploration than Ghost Ranch<\/strong>, \u00a0Abiquiu, New Mexico?<\/p>\n

Participants will forge a deeper relationship with the natural world, expand their artistic skills and vision and create some inspiring visual works.<\/p>\n

The rhythm of the days will begin with morning workshops in drawing\/painting<\/strong> –both plein air and in the studio,\u00a0 hiking (at one\u2019s own level) and opportunities for reflection and meditation.\u00a0 The\u00a0 afternoons will be flexible. \u00a0Participants\u00a0 can further immerse\u00a0 themselves in art making, in hiking or they may choose to explore via horseback \u00a0or \u00a0take trips to local artists studios. Tours specific to O\u2019Keefe\u2019s life and work at the ranch, along with yoga classes and massage are also available. \u00a0Evenings \u00a0provide the option of \u00a0slide talks and time to share ideas and work.<\/p>\n

Each day will include time in the natural landscape, actual art instruction, art making, time for reflection and discussion.<\/p>\n

Participants in this workshop \u00a0will be housed in Casa Del Sol, the retreat house built in the 1930s. \u00a0Located next door to Georgia O\u2019Keefe\u2019s own ranch home, this is horse shoe shaped hacienda surrounding \u00a0an airy courtyard \u2013 with powerful mountain views . If one knows O\u2019Keefe\u2019s work, one will recognize these mountains immediately.\u00a0 Casa Del Sol \u00a0has \u00a0six unique welcoming bedrooms, well stocked with\u00a0 wonderful books, a simple kitchen, a living room with fireplace all surrounded by inspiring landscapes.<\/p>\n
