Project Goals

The goal of the Learning Map Project is to develop and pilot an instructional design approach that faculty can use to align learning outcomes, assessments, and instruction across undergraduate STEM course sequences.

Research Questions

  • Can we use Learning Maps (LMaps) to streamline the coordination of learning outcomes, assessments, and instructional activities among instructors teaching in the same course sequence?
  • How do we assess knowledge transfer across a course sequence?
  • Will the alignment of teaching in course sequences lead to better student outcomes?
